Why People Seek Revenge Before Breaking Up With Their Boyfriends/Girlfriends

More often than not relationships between boyfriends and girlfriends end badly.  One person is usually completely unhappy with the other.  So why do people seek revenge before breaking up with them?  The most likely reason is that the person seeking the revenge is hurt.  Revenge is typically delivered by someone who has been hurt.  So typically, when revenge is sought by someone before they break up with another, it’s due to pain.  For example; when someone finds out that their significant other has been cheating, they will often seek revenge before breaking up with their ‘lover’.  When a relationship ends on good terms, there are rarely ever acts of vengeance carried out by either party.
