If you can't then it's unfair on you both that you continue because it would've permanently damaged the relationship and accusing one another, if you do continue it'd take some work to get past it. However I do have to say, her excuse really wasn't much of one and not really and excusable one. If she had problems she really should've spoken to you. To me a promise, or even an i love you from someone who cheated on me is hollow. At best she does love you. But love is only what it means to the person who tells you they love you. In your opinion of what love is do you cheat on the person you love because you feel "insecure about your looks"? That possibility never crosses my mind as something to do to someone i love. But there are alot of things i wouldn't do to people i love. It depends on you really, but i would say to expect to be betrayed again in the future.
